Uganda Birding SafariBirding in Uganda (12 Days)

Winston Churchill enthused about Uganda, describing it as "the pearl of Africa". Celebrated for its fine scenery as well as its abundant wildlife, Uganda is home to over 1000 bird species. This safari is designed for general birders who are fairly fit, enthusiastic and are capable of walking in steep areas at fairly high altitudes. Your guide on safari will be one of two leading ornithologists, Malcolm Wilson or Ian Davidson, both of whom have extensive experience in guiding in Uganda, along with other African counties.

Uganda Birding Safari

Visit the various national parks and protected areas in Uganda including Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kibale Forest, Budongo Forest and Murchison Falls National Park, where you may expect to see as many as 400+ bird species. Most days will be spent on foot and on vehicle in search for that “must see” along with the occasional boat trip. While visiting Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, you will also have an opportunity to see the rare mountain gorillas and other primates as well as forest walks for birding.
